“Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” ~JFK

Perhaps the most impressive quality of our community, is the power and dedication of our community. It’s because of your partnership, engagement, and commitment that we’ve been able to provide local healthy food options, pass policy that lowers the density of future housing developments, opened a community Public Library in Hamilton, improved public transit service, and begun the SMART Train. Working together to find answers and implement fair, practical, effective solutions that improve daily life, is what I’ve loved most about serving you.

The SMART Train is up and running more successfully than anticipated. Working with the community, local electeds, and SMART (where I served as chair), we got that done!

By changing Marin’s housing designation we’ve lowered the density requirement for future housing developments. Pulling together advocates from all sides, we got that done!

We opened a new South Novato Library Branch in Hamilton, doubling its size and creating the very popular and innovative Makers Space place for learning. Working collaboratively,we got that done!

Created the Marin Economic Forum to focus on the connection between a local sustainable economy and our environmental and social equity goals. Working with businesses, non-profits, and local government, we got that done!

Launched the Vial of L.I.F.E. Program in Marin to help our emergency responders save lives. Coordinating with the fire department, local hospitals and our senior community, we got that done!

Opened Stafford Lake Bike Park – offering riders of all ages fun and exciting bike riding experiences. Working with the community, we got that done!

As Chair of the Disaster Council, I’m dedicated to enhancing our emergency preparedness, both for individuals and public agencies. I’m bringing forward concrete actions to tackle this year.

I’m continuing to work with our state and Federal partners to secure the remaining funds needed to finish the Marin-Sonoma Narrows project—adding a third lane both ways.

I’ve helped to raise significant resources necessary to complete our Novato Theater, which I see as an important cultural venue and integral to a vibrant downtown.
